Limitless,PPG 2024 Color of the Year

PPG's Limitless, a warm honey beige hue, reflects evolving consumer preference for softer, lighter shades in everything from automobiles to architectural elements. This contemporary color offers infinite design and styling possibilities for residential and commercial interiors and exteriors, consumer products and industrial applications. Subdued, sophisticated and calming, Limitless is strong enough to stand as a leading, primary color, yet has the essence of a neutral to serve in a supporting role.

Influencing Industrial Design

To introduce the 2024 Color of the Year and a color palette of more than 40 complementary hues, PPG produced a 1970's inspired video that tells the story of a couple as they transition from newlyweds to new parents to empty nesters.

This theme for this year's color forecast is Limitless, a carefully curated collection of 40 complementary hues, organized in three distinct color palettes, or “volumes”.

The first features soft, grounded colors; the second includes earthy greens, florals and energizing blues; and the third is a beautiful mix of playful and dramatic colors.

Limitless, when combined with colors from these palettes, feels very warm, and soothing, yet also highly curated and elegant. Together, the collection tells the overarching story of how cultural undercurrents are shifting toward optimism, creativity and introspection.

Color Expertise

Each spring, more than 30 stylists from dozens of global regions from various PPG businesses like architectural, automotive, consumer products and aerospace, participate in an intensive, days-long color workshop to determine the "it" color for the following year.

This comprehensive color forecasting process is unrivaled in scope in the industry. This expertise, coupled with PPG's full suite of coatings technologies, has enabled the company to shape the color direction for more surfaces than any other coatings maker in the world.

By participating in this process, color stylists from Industrial Coatings are uniquely positioned to work with OEM designers to translate the color forecast to their specific products and applications. This work can be done in-person at a state-of-the-art PPG color studio or through a virtual workshop.
